2010 Season

The 2010 Formula One season will be the 61st season to take place. The rules and teams are stll subject to much change, because of the proposed budget cap row. Only five teams were confirmed, three new teams and Force India and Williams. The eight other 2009 teams did plan to set up a rival series, but have since said they will compete in 2010.

At the end of September 2009 BMW announced that they were pulling out of the championship. Lotus were then announced as the replacements but BMW were then bought out by a Swiss company. They have been handed a reserve spot if any of the teams pull out.

In November 2009, Toyota announced they were pulling out of the sport due to financial losses. Later that day Renault also held emergency meetings, but no word has been said about whether they have decided to leave F1 yet.
